BRIGHTON BEACH

 

Brighton Beach, also known as "Little Odessa" and "Russia by the Sea," is located in the southern part of New York City's borough of Brooklyn.  Its demographic population includes a significant number of jewish immigrants from Russia.   It is estimated that as of 2011, of the 55,000 Holocaust survivors living in New York City, most live in Brighton Beach.  An increasing numbers of Central Asians have also moved to Brighton Beach due to its Soviet influence.
